Summer 2014

Hello my lovelies! This summer, i was busy doing lots of exciting (and some mundane) things that i thought you ,might be excited to look at some snaps of! I'll explain every picture as its shown, so you get to know a bit more about what i got up to this summer!

This was inside Gough's Cave at Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. The water was unbelievably clear, and it was used as a wishing well. Thousands of pennies have been thrown in there over the years, sometimes i wonder what everyone's wishes were?

This is taken from my friend, Natalie's, Snapchat story, when we baked a cake, which looked and tasted delicious!

As you probably know, the Ice Bucket challenge was very popular this summer, trying to raise money for a very good cause. This is me doing my part, looking rather chilled (pun intended) palms covering my face.

A beautiful sunset (with no effects may i add) that i got to watch from my back garden, whilst we were having a BBQ one night.

Brean Beach, in Somerset, where we went on numerous days during my time in Somerset.

Whernside in the Yorkshire Dales, that i managed to climb. It doesn't really look high but its actually 2,415 (according to wikipedia) feet high, and took four hours to climb and two to descend.

Another snap of Brean Beach, on an evening.

An old man crossing the road in front of York Minster

A beautiful park in Minehead, where we sat and fed a Squirrel

Some Inca style dancers 'busking' on one of the streets in York, i adore their costumes!

A little grey rabbit i absolutely fell in love with at one little farm house restaurant we ate at, which had loads of adorable animals, including Meerkats!

Finally, a snap of a stream running through Cheddar (the place, not the cheese) which i  thought looked really pretty.I even got the pleasure of this view, whilst i was at an authentic Milk bar, where i had a delicious Strawberry Milkshake.

I hope you enjoyed my summer 2014 snaps guys!

Crabtree and Evelyn Rosewater Hand Therapy

*Old packaging is photographed*

Hello my lovelies, after another long break, i'm back to blogging again. I thought i'd kick off with a hand cream review, because honestly, with winter just around the corner, hand creams are one of my staple products!

Firstly i want to discuss the packaging of this Crabtree and Evelyn hand cream. It's absolutely beautiful! I know this is the old packaging, but the new one is equally as nice. I think the main hing i like about the packaging is the vintage feel, tied with pastel colours and flowers. It's just so Leanne! The packaging itself is made of a metal (unsure which) which makes the product feel all the more worthy of my pennies!

Usually, i tend to avoid rose scent because i find them extremely over powering and much too floral for my liking, but after i smelt this, i was converted! Someone actually bought me this for my Birthday (and i wouldn't have smelt it otherwise) but i'm in love! It's just a really light adaptation of rose, and i think that's why i really like it!

As for the texture, it's very thick and creamy, but it's soaks in fairly well so take into account the consistency! It leaves my hands feeling really nourished and soft and helps them to avoid the winter cracked skin, which usually begins to set in in October time!

Overall Product Rating:
Price: 6/10  Product: 8/10  Packaging: 10/10

Hope you enjoyed today's post, and be on the look out for Update/Get to know me better a post coming later in the week!

Leanne! :) xx

Summer This or That

1. Beaches or Pools? Definitely pools. Even though your left with the smell of chlorine on your skin, nothings worse than pesky sand, that has been ruining bikini's since time began!
2. Perfume or Body splash? In summer i tend to gravitate towards body splashes, as they seem to smell more summer-esk and tend to be much lighter!
3. Nail Varnish Or Natural? Personally, in summer i think that bright coloured nail varnish looks really stylish!
4. What lip color will you be rocking most this summer? I have on by Natural collection, in the shade 'Raspberry' which i absolutely love!
5. Sundresses or Shorts? Sundresses. SUNDRESSES, hands down! They're super duper comfy, and if you get the right fitting ones, can be really flattering!
6. Sunbathing or Self Tanners? Self tanning, sunbathing takes too much time, patience and can even cause skin cancer. I much prefer getting a glow from a bottle!
7. What is your favorite drink in the summer? Peach ice tea mmm.
8. Hot dogs or burgers? Hot dogs with plenty of mustard!
9. What song instantly reminds you of summer? Roar by Katie Perry, a bit of an unusual one!
10. Ice cream, Popsicles, or Frozen Yogurt? Frozen yogurt is definitely the best
11. You just won an all paid vacation to go anywhere and do anything you’d like, what would you choose? I'd go to somewhere really ho with lots of waterfalls that i could jump into, i just think it would be a really great experience!
12. What is the weather like during the summer where you live? Well i live in England, so lot's of rain and not much sun, we don't really get a summer!
13. Do you have a certain beauty product that during the summer you will not leave your house with out? Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation!
14. Sunglasses or Hats? Sunglasses, although i should really wear hats, because my scalp burns so easily!

The Summer Beauty Tag

What is the best part of summer time?
I love BBQ's where you say out late, until dark, with candles food and great company. I don't think i'd change anything about those nights, well apart from the pesky bugs, but that's nothing a mosquito spray can't resolve!

Do you tan or burn?
I tan... I'm quite lucky like that to be honest.

Favorite summer nail polish?
This year for me its been Barry M's Satsuma... I LOVE that stuff!

Favorite summer drink/beverage?
Frappachino's, fruity smoothies and water believe it or not!

Favorite summer clothing item?
DRESSES! I cannot live without dresses! In summer i tend to prefer bright coloured ones, but dresses in general are great in my opinion! They hide a multitude of sins!

Favorite phone app during this summer?
Instagram definitely, i find it great to see what the people i don't get to see that often are doing throughout summer!

Favorite summer movie?
I LOVE A Walk To Remember, i'm not sure it's a summer film, but its great non the less. The switch up is fab too! Oh, and  LOL.

Favorite summer beauty product?
Salt spray, peach lipsticks, bronzers and moisturiser!

Favorite summer activity?
Holidays with family and friends, abroad or at home. Great times to make memories!

Favorite type of lip product for the summer time?
Minty Baby Lips, mmm i love that stuff! :)

3 Bath Time Favorites!

I LOVE to take regular baths, and i thought i'd share with you my 'Bath Time Favs'
I have to exfoliate my skin at least twice a week, as it gets really dry and flaky, especially in summer... and like everyone else i don't want scales! I've really been loving this 'The Scrub Of Your Life' by soap and glory, with little micro beads, as it smells delicious, and gets rid of all the dry skin!
I love using bath bombs, as they really hep me to relax when I've had a stressful day! Good ol' Lush is usually the brand of my choice, as they're just so luxurious! My all time favorite one is 'Space Girl' It adds a little bit of sparkle, and no girl can live without sparkle in her life! The scent is amazing, and reminds me of traditional sweets! And best of all? It turns the water purple!

Finally, whilst relaxing i love to use a face mask. My favorite are the peel off ones, but sometimes i like to use thick fruity ones when i'm having a 'pamper night' (a regular occurrence). I like other brands too, such as the Planet Spa ones, which are great for clearing out my pores!

Purchase of the Week

Hello my little lovelies! This weeks purchase, is the MUA Undressed Palette!

The colours are wonderful, and swatch really well! They look really nice on the eyelids, and are really pigmented! As for staying power, they last all day, when wearing a eyelid primer! I originally went to buy this as i heard that it was a pretty good dupe for the naked palette from Urban Decay, but i can't compare as i don't own it. But as for the product itself, i think it's a pretty good staple!

This costs £4, and is available from MUA. I think for any starter kits, or even for the pro's amongst us, its a pretty good, buy!
And i have had this for around 3 weeks (despite the title of the post) so I've tested them all out!

                                                              **True to colour swatches**

Hope you enjoyed todays purchase of the week!

Lush Bath time: Space Girl

Hello my little lovelies! As you probably all know, I'm a HUGE LUSHie! Anything that makes bath time alittle more fun, is a bonus in my eyes! I love relaxing in the bath, and letting my worries melt away! I love to pop a little bath bomb in my bath to help with the process, and this one is my all time favorite!

Space girl, is one of LUSH's cheapest, but in my opinion, one of the best! It smells delicious, like sweeties! yummy! And leaves popping candy whizzing and fizzing around your bath!

The glitter makes your bath nice and glittery, amongst the purple-ness and leaves you and your bathroom smelling great!!

I seriously don't have a bad word to say! I can't even grumble at the price £2.25 for LUSH? sounds like a bargain to me!

Hoped you enjoyed today's short 'n' snappy post!

Current Hair Care Edit

Hey my little lovelies!! I wanted to give you a quick insight into my current hair care 'system' so to speak! And at the moment i believe it works perfectly with my hair type!!

TRESemme Thermal Recovery, Nourish & Renew Shampoo:- This is shampoo for dry hair heat damaged hair. I tend to use this once a week, as if i use it more often it can cause oil build up in my hair, as it's naturally oily. Available HERE

Babyliss Curl Secret C1000E :- This is seriously revolutionary... It zaps up your hair does 8, 10 or 12 seconds, and then out comes a perfect curl, Its surprisingly easy to use too!! Its not on the cheap side, and i was lucky enough to receive this for Christmas! Available HERE

Alberto Balsalm Green Apple Shampoo & Conditioner:- I LOVE Alberto Balsalm! For one, they all smell very nice, the green apple one is marketed towards my hair type so i though it was best  used this one, but i really like the scent well. Does everything a shampoo should! Available HERE

Enrapture Totem Curler:- The barrel part of this curler is split into three sections, each of which can be changed to different heat settings, which makes it really easy to change up your style regularly. I really like the fact that one heat styler can make so many different hairstyles. Available HERE

Avon Advanced Techniques Moroccan Oil Treatment:- I was lucky enough to receive this one for Christmas, and have tried it out around three times, and so far i'm loving it! It stops frizzies, helps split ends and makes hair silky soft. I don't use a hair mask every time i wash my hair, as i have naturally oily hair... once a week is enough for me! Available HERE

And finally we come to straighteners are straighteners, and these Toni & guy ones certainly get the job done! There quite good, and don't leave your hair damaged when used at the right heat.... Available HERE

Hoped you enjoyed today's post guys!!!

Simple Light Moisturizer Review

Hello My Little Beauties!! Okay, so as you all know I've been raving about this product for months, my obsession goes back years infact! And guess what? I thought it was time i wrote a review finally!!!

Firstly i want to talk about the consistency of this product, its light, but not creamy... its definitely more textured, but i can't quite put it into words. When first applied to the skin as part of my morning routine, it makes my face rather shiny. But after 10 or so minutes it soaks in well and leaves my face looking much more refreshed! I have combination to oily skin, more oily than combination, and i find this can be very hard to cater for when looking for a good light moisturizer. This one though works well for me!!

There isn't any scent to this moisturizer, which i prefer, as i really don't like putting scented things on my face (apart from the odd lip balm...i can't resist a good lip balm!) as i think of it as rubbing food on my face (yes, weird, i know!) So in conclusion i prefer this as its unscented!

Another great point about this 'wonderproduct' so to speak is the price. No matter how much i try to put it out of my mind, price always helps me decide whether or not to try a product. And obviously at £3.99 i though this one was worth a go! Let's just say, i was impressed!!!

In conclusion i do think that this is a great product overall. Price, Product and Packaging are all fantastic! So if you have oily to combination skin then i'd definitely try this one out, as in my opinion its well worth a go!

Hoped you enjoyed today's post guys!

Bath time Beauties...

I don't tend to be much of a bath kinda gal in summer i tend to go for showers, but in winter, i can't get enough baths... When i have a shower, i don't feel as pamper somehow, and i have no clue why, i also tend to use more 'luxurious' products too. And i thought i'd give you a quick insight into what i use in a 'pamper' bath

Avon Advanced Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil:-  I don't always use this specific one, but i always use a hair mask. I was lucky enough to receive this one for Christmas, and have tried it out around three times, and so far i'm loving it, i'm thinking about doing a review soon so look out for that! But in general, using a hair mask, stops frizzies, helps split ends and makes hair silky soft. I don't use a hair mask every time i wash my hair, as i have naturally oily hair... once a week is enough for me!

Soap & Glory Smoothie star Breakfast Scrub:- I LOVE this stuff! It smells like fudge / maple syrup! Yum... Its really good for exfoliating elbows and knees, and is also good for before shaving your legs and fake tanning! Its a very thick consistency,   and a rather harsh scrub, probably not very good for sensitive/ irritable skin (Scrub Of Your Life from soap and glory is a much gentler scrub) It gets rid of dry skin like a dream! I will definitely be repurchasing this, even though its rather pricey for a body scrub.

Soap & Glory Clean On Me: - This body wash is in soap and glory's signature scent (like hand food and the righteous butter) Its a perfect body wash, and ensures a nice smelling bath time. I saw on one of MissBudgetBeautys videos, that this wash was really good to use when shaving legs, so i thought i'd give it a try, a by-gum its a winner. It leaves my legs feeling silky smooth! Its very creamy and moisturizing perfect for those winter blues!

Space Girl Bath Bomb: If you saw my post on what Abbie got me for Christmas you would have seen that this is my favorite bath bomb from lush. It smells like sweets and whizzes around your bath tub, what more you want? I'm not going to go into too much detail, as i practically did a full review on that post so check it out. But if your not a big fan of lush, you can just replace it with your personal preference.

Finally we come to Soap & Glory's Righteous Butter: - As i said above, its Soap & Glory's signature scent, thick and creamy. I tend to avoid moisturizing my legs (don't tell the beauty bloggers) as i find it such a chore. But since i tried this i can't get enough, i moisturize after every bath/ shower, and i can definitely tell a difference. My skins looking (and feeling) softer and much more moisturized! And the best of it all? It doesn't feel like a chore anymore, i actually enjoy moisturizing!!!

Hope you enjoyed today's post my little lovilies!!!

Think Pink Lush Bath Bomb!

Hello my little lovelies!! I'm going to be reviewing the Think Pink Lush Bath bomb, and its a cutie!
Okay, so as you can see from the picture above, think pink looks as good as it sounds, in comparison to many other Lush bath bombs, its on the smaller side, but there still enough product for your buck!! The three little flowers on top add a feminine touch, but do tend to pop out, to me this isn't a problem but for others it might be so... The smell is described as 'vanilla and Tonka' and to be quite honest i have no clue what 'Tonka' is but it smells delightful,  i'm not the best at describing but, i would say this is a subtle sweet/floral scent that isn't overpowering at all. I used this earlier this morning, and its left its scent all over my skin, yummy! My skin also feels surprisingly soft, which makes me feel like this is definitely worth the money.

When dropped (or popped, which ever you prefer) into your bath, Think Pink fizzes, and turns your bath a wonderful pink colour. Depending on what colour flowers, are on top, swirls of colour also swizz around! When the remainders of the bath bomb disappear into the water, small heart shapes of different coloured  pink confetti are left floating around, eventually these dissolve too, but they do prolong the experience! Sadly, this wouldn't photograph too well, sorry!

So in conclusion, Think Pink is great value, at only £2.50 for all of the above (moisturizing, smell, relaxing). I wouldn't use one every bath time, but i would consider using one often enough to keep me feeling chilled!

What did Abbie get me for Christmas?

Okay, so i know its been a while since i last posted, but hey ho its been Christmas, and my schedule has been jam packed! To get back into the swing of things i thought i'd show you the beauty bits Abbie bought me, and let's just say i was well chuffed!

Okay, so the first thing i opened was this little beauty! The soap and glory breakfast scrub! And my-oh-my it smells good! To me it smells just like fudgey-maple syrup flavor! M-mm. It's very thick, and GREAT for exfoliating all over, although i think it would be rather harsh to tr and exfoliate your face with, so bear that in mind! :) Soap & Glory range available HERE
As you can see from the above photo, Abbie bought me some good old lush. And im a HUGE lushie!!! I'm a big fan of the Christmas range at lush, even the wrapping, is extra cute this year!
A gift from the angels? haha see what i did there? This soaps sadly only available around the Christmas period, but well worth the year round wait! I'm rubbish at describing scents so i'm gonna use the lush booklet to help me. This is a 'super fruity' scent, which is also rather sweet and delightful! Yum! Sadly, this soaps no longer available, but hopefully it will be back next year!
Abbie obviously knows me VERY well, as space girl, is one of my fav lush bath products, from the normal range, and thankfully its available all year round. Its fabulous for fizzing and whizzing around your tub, and even contains some popping candy for good measure! This to me just smells like sweets! yay, i'm a big fan of sweets so thats' a winner! And for the price of £2.25, its one of lush's cheapest product, perfect for chillaxing! Available HERE
Finally, i got this little wonder, and i'm sorry i know the photo is rather crappy and doesn't really do the product justice! Again, this is from the Christmas collection, so its no longer available sorry. However its the cutest most glittery thing i have ever seen... And it smells really refreshing and citrus-y! Star Light Star Bright is a perfect post Christmas pick me up, so if its  in again next year be sure to check it out!!!

I also received, lots more smellies of friends and family, including a HUGE soap and glory set, and a Lush Christmas Bathtime favorites box set!!!
